Josh Sauter

Marketing Director & Client Relations Manager

I joined NWCL to be close to entrepreneurship and to be able to make a difference in the growth of a company I believe in

Continual development is core to my professional ethos. As a member of a team that is dedicated to mentorship and growth, I can confidently say I learn something new every day and would’t have it any other way.

Our clients are changing the world and we have the chance to support such unique and innovative businesses

Having the opportunity to raise awareness for the fantastic client outcomes and lasting relationships that clients have with our team of attorneys is very refreshing and genuine. If you don’t have that in your current role, it might be time to find it.

Words to live by “if you love what you do – you never work a day in your life”

My career has run the spectrum from working for large multinational companies to launching a startup, encompassing both the public and private sectors and spanned across industries from manufacturing to retail. My key takeaway is simple – find out what you love and pursue it relentlessly. For me that is working with entrepreneurs, and being a part of a team that adds real value to the startup ecosystem.

I believe digital engagement and virtual interaction are concepts worth embracing, and will be key to sustainable success moving forward

If recent global events have taught us anything, it’s the value of adapting and being flexible. We are incorporating a fully digital approach to working with our clients that allows us to be hyper available and responsive to their needs, whether over the phone or through video conference, we are just a click or call away.

Word of advice to entrepreneurs and business owners

As an entrepreneur, you will have a vast amount of advisory support and supposed “experts” who will want to be a part of your journey. Be judicious in who you let into your business, research thoroughly and make sure the people you work with “get” both YOU and the business.

The Pacific Northwest is a great place to start and grow a business

The Pacific Northwest is unique in its ability to offer access to both nationwide and international markets while simultaneously maintaining a devout feeling of being local to the region. Having grown up in Portland, it is important to me to support innovation and economic growth in a place that has always felt like home.
